Clifton Heights/University Heights/Fairview Heights (CUF) is the primary community for off-campus housing options for many of the 30,000-plus students at UC. The Clifton Heights Business District is the primary retail district serving UC constituents.
The area offers views from hillsides facing downtown and the Mill Creed Valley, hillside parks, and a wide variety of housing options, from small buildings in poor condition to large turn-of-the-century brick or frame houses being used as single-family homes or converted to apartments, to late 20th-century complexes with hundreds of rental units.
Clifton Heights is bordered by The Heights and the University of Cincinnati on the north, by Mt. Auburn and Corryville on the east, by Over-the-Rhine on the south, and by Fairview on the west. Clifton Heights contains portions of census tracts (25 and 26) included in the Empowerment Zone.
